Jhansi Fort

  If you wish to know how courageous Rani Laxmi Bai was, you will have to visit the Jhansi Fort. located in Jhansi district of Uttar Pradesh, the first picture given here shows the grand view of inside the Fort. In the second picture you can see the gun called Kadak Bijli used by Rani Laxmi Bai during the 1857 Revolution. She used three guns of this type. The  third picture shows how daring she was. Look at the picture carefully. It was from the place where you can see people standing that she jumped down the fort with her son tied on her back and holding sword in one hand and horse's reigns in another. The precipice is about 30 feet down deep, uneven and slopy and it lead to a grave injury to the horse leading to its death. Rani Lakshmi Bai went from here to Kalpi and occupied it.  The king of Gwalior was so scared of her that he fled surrendering the fort to the great lady .
