1857 New Jail

This is the site of the new jail in which the 85 revolutionary sepoys were lodged in 1857. This ground is now called the Victoria Park or Bhama Shah Park. This memorial stands in memory to those 85 soldiers who revolted against their British masters and helped to start the greatest revolution that the world has ever seen. This revolution shook the foundations of the East India Company of Britain, and started the rule by the British crown. This revolution awakened the Indians of their rights who rose and fought against the British for ninety long years to ultimately get freedom in 1947. This ground also has a cricket academy which has given several international cricketers.
