Your Indifference

Another Hindi poem by Urvashi Jahnavi Aggarwal, which I rendered into English :

Your indifference frightens me,
Why lovely my house appears to me.

Though I am at my goal,
Why then incomplete journey it appears to me.

No one stayed with permeating pain,
Waiting for someone a milestone it appears to me.

Why it touched and went leaving colonies sad,
Sunken in grief this town appears to me.

Wounded by a sweet dagger was I,
Some beloved relation it appears to me.

I saw a dream shattered on the ground,
Broken is the wing of some bird it appears to me.

The neighbours must have fed them a bribe
The pigeon has flown away it appears to me.

Lie I alone in a corner of the house,
The town has aged it appears to me.

Conversed with God last night in dream,
Urvashi this is effect of prayer it appears to me.
