Transformation of Sentences

ASSERTIVE TO NEGATIVE AND INTERROGATIVE
When we transform a sentence from assertive to negative or interrogative, its sense undergoes a change.

Assertive to Negative
Assertive to Interrogative
In the simplest way, an Assertive Sentence is changed into Negative by inserting no/not/never if there is an Auxiliary, or by inserting does not/did not in Present and Past Indefinite Tenses respectively.
In Yes/No-type Questions, the Auxiliary is brought to the head of the sentence, while in Q-type Questions, the Question Word is put at the beginning, followed by Auxiliary Verb, Subject and Verb.
Assertive : She is a bright student.
Negative : She is not a bright student.
Interrogative : Is she a bright student?
Assertive : He plays the guitar well.
Negative : He does no play the guitar well.
Interrogative : How does he play the guitar?
Assertive : You have gone to temple to pray.
Negative : You have not gone to temple to pray.
Interrogative : Have you gone to temple to pray?

Food for Thought : In the above transformation, the meaning of sentences undergoes a change. Now, consider the following and tick the pairs in which the meaning does not change :
·         Everybody knows Sardar Patel.
Who does not know Sardar Patel?
·         Their bravery cannot be questioned?
When can their bravery be questioned?
·         Ramesh is taller than Mohan.
Mohan is not so tall as Ramesh is.
·         I am as strong as you.
You are not stronger than me.
