INFINITIVES AS CONNECTORS


The Infinitive is formed by 'to+Verb (I form)', such as : to go, to speak etc. It can be used to join sentences :
·         Kamna and Kanti went to market. They bought a present.
Kamna and Kanti went to market to buy a present.
·         I switched on the television. I wanted to watch a one day international.
I switched on the television to watch a one day international.
·         Father gave me five rupees. I wanted to buy a toy.
Father gave me five rupees to buy a toy.
