Mastani Mahal

 The Mastani Mahal, belonging to Mastani, now well known due to the popular film Bajirao Mastani, is located at Dhubela in Madhya Pradesh. She was the adopted daughter of Chhatrasal, the glorious king of Bundelkhand who fought for the freedom of the country from the Mughals and defeated them several times. During his old age, he could not face the onslaught of the Mughals, so he sought the help of Bajirao, and it was how, Bajirao and Mastani came to know each other. The palace is now in ruins, but tells the glorious times it has seen in the past. This palace is located in the same campus where the palace of Chhatrasal is located, and is now a museum dedicated to Chhatrasal. The place is worth a visit, not only for these two, but also for several other pieces of fine architecture around.
