INTERCHANGE OF DEGREES OF COMPARISON

You have learnt how to use different Degrees of Comparison, but that changes the meaning too. Now, we shall learn how to use them without causing a change in meaning :
·         This street is as wide as that road. (Positive)
That road is not wider than this street. (Comparative)
·         The building is as high as a mountain. (Positive)
A mountain is not higher than the building. (Comparative)
·         No other fruit is as sweet as the mango. (Positive)
The mango is sweeter than any other fruit. (Comparative)
The mango is the sweetest of all fruits. (Superlative)
