Present Perfect Tense
While changing
sentences of this tense into Passive Voice, the Verb is changed into the Past
Participle (III) form, preceded by has
been/have been as per the new Subject; for example :
Active : You
have laughed at your friend.
Passive : Your
friend has been laughed at by you.
Active : She
has laid the crockery on the dining table.
Passive : The
crockery has been laid by her on the dining table.
Active : Why
have we picked up these red dresses?
Passive : Why have these red dressed been picked up by us?
Passive : Why have these red dressed been picked up by us?
Past Perfect Tense
While changing
sentences of this tense into Passive Voice, the Verb is changed into the Past
Participle (III) form, preceded by had
been as per the new Subject; for example :
Active : A
little child had made a boat from a torn notebook.
Passive : A
boat had been made by a little child from a torn notebook.
Active : The
members had elected him the chairman.
Passive : He
had been elected the chairman by the members.
Active : Had they
milked the cow in the morning?
Passive : Had
the cow been milked in the morning by them?
Future Perfect Tense
While changing
sentences of this tense into Passive Voice, the Verb is changed into the Past
Participle (III) form, preceded by will
have been/shall have been as per the new Subject; for example :
Active : You
will have taken the letter with you.
Passive : The
letter will have been taken by you with you.
Active : She
will not have felt any pain from the injection.
Passive : Any
pain will not have been felt by her from the injection.
Active : Where
shall I have sharpened the pencil?
Passive : Where
will the pencil have been sharpened by me?
Note : The sentences in following four tenses
cannot be changed into Passive Voice :
1. Future
Continuous Tense,
2. Present
Perfect Continuous Tense,
3. Past
Perfect Continuous Tense, and
4. Future Perfect Continuous Tense.
