Direct-Indirect Speech - EXCLAMATORY SENTENCES

We can divide these sentences into two types :
1. The sentences of the first type contain exclamatory words, such as Hurrah! Bravo! Alas! Ah! Oh! etc. To change them into Indirect Speech, said to is changed into exclaimed with sorrow/joy/surprise/contempt or exclaimed sorrowfully/joyfully/surprisingly/contemptuously according to the sense of the sentence; also the sentence is changed into a statement and the exclamatory words and marks are not used.
Direct Speech : The students said, "Hurrah! We all have passed the test."
Indirect Speech : The students exclaimed with joy that they all had passed the test.
Direct Speech : The old man said, "Ah! I have tripped on the slippery road."
Indirect Speech : The old man exclaimed sorrowfully that he had tripped on the slippery road.
2. The sentences of the other type contain wish, prayer, boon or curse etc. In this type of sentence, said to is changed into wished/prayed/cursed etc. according to the sense of the sentence and the sentence is changed into a statement.
Direct Speech : The son said, "Good morning, Father."
Indirect Speech : The son wished his father good morning.
Direct Speech : The old man said to him, "May God help you!"
Indirect Speech : The old man wished that Go might help him.
Direct Speech : The child looked at the flying bird and said, "If I could fly like a bird!"
Indirect Speech : The child looked at the flying bird and wished if he could fly like a bird.
