Indirect : The doctor advised the patient to drink a lot of drink water.
Direct : The dealer said to the customer, "You should buy this fine house."
Indirect : The dealer persuaded the customer to buy that fine house.

Direct : The clerk said to the manager, "Please give me a day's leave tomorrow."
Indirect : The clerk requested the manager to give him a day's leave the following day.
Direct : The poor man said to the landlord, "Please give me some work to do."
