Adjectives
and Adverbs are used in three senses. So, they have three degrees :
1. Positive Degree : We can use the positive degree in a common way; for
example :
Rahul
is a busy man. (Adjective)
He
solved the problem cleverly.
(Adverb)
2. Comparative Degree : We can use the comparative degree to compare; for example
:
Rohit
is a busier man than Rahul.
(Adjective)
She
solved the problem more cleverly
than him. (Adverb)
3. Superlative Degree : The superlative degree is used to tell that some quality
or attribute is in its maximum or minimum measure; for example :
Govind
is the busiest man in the town.
(Adjective)
I
solved this problem most cleverly of
all. (Adverb)
Let's Know : The superlative degree of
Adjective takes the Article 'the' before it. It does not apply with the Adverb.
